We cordially invite you to a unique lecture that will reveal the lesser-known but fascinating aspects of the formation of the Czechoslovak Republic. The formation of the state after the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy was no rushed event - it was a long-prepared and carefully managed process, with personalities and forces behind it that are not much discussed in history books.
Join us for a look behind the curtain of history that is not normally open to the public eye.
The lecture will be given by Bohuslav Větrovský - he is deeply interested in the historical context and hidden currents that shaped Czech and Czechoslovak history. His lectures are known for their engaging presentation, knowledge and ability to connect seemingly unrelated historical facts into a comprehensible whole.
Freemasons played a significant, but often hidden, role in the establishment of Czechoslovakia in 1918 and in the formation of the First Republic. Their influence was particularly evident in the foreign resistance, in diplomatic circles and in the promotion of the democratic, humanist and secular ideals that were so close to Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk.
At the lecture you will learn:
Who was really behind the collapse of the Habsburg monarchy and how this historical break was managed and shaped
What role Freemasons played in foreign resistance and international diplomatic circles
Edvard Beneš and Milan Rastislav Štefánik - how these key men used international Masonic network contacts to promote the Czechoslovak idea in France and other countries
T. G. Masaryk and his relationship with the Freemasons - although his direct membership of the lodge is debated, he had strong support among the Freemasons and was very close to them in thought
How Masonic lodges functioned as a powerful platform for connecting elites, politicians, artists and intellectuals across Europe
The ideological foundations of the new state - the principles of humanity, fraternity and liberty that became the cornerstones of the Czechoslovak Republic
Where Facts End and Myths Begin - an objective look at the true extent of Masonic influence and how their image was exploited by Nazi and Communist propaganda
After the establishment of the Republic in 1918, Masonic structures actively helped to consolidate the democratic character of the state. They supported religious tolerance, the separation of church and state and promoted the principles that still form the basis of modern Czech society today.
Other prominent figures of the First Republic with links to Freemasonry include Jaroslav Kvapil and members of the Čapek family - proof of how deeply rooted these schools of thought were in the Czech cultural and intellectual elite.
This lecture is not about conspiracy theories. It is about a sober, informed, and courageous view of history that complements what we have been missing. Bohuslav Vetrovský will offer a new angle on the events that shaped our country and that still resonate today.
The lecture will also include a presentation of original Masonic artifacts.
The lecture is intended for all those who are interested in Czech and Czechoslovak history, want to learn about the lesser-known context of the First Republic and are not satisfied with a textbook interpretation of history. Students, history enthusiasts, but also every curious person who is not afraid to ask questions are welcome.
The lecture will take place in the premises of the Municipal Library in Nové Město nad Metují - a place that itself breathes history and offers an ideal atmosphere for uncovering the hidden stories of our past.
Admission 100,- CZK / payment on the spot.
Come with Bohuslav Větrovský to discover the hidden influence of Freemasons on the creation of Czechoslovakia. We look forward to seeing you in Nové Město nad Metují!
