Think of your body as a symphony orchestra. Hormones are the musicians and the endocrine system is the conductor. When everyone is playing by the sheet music, it's beautiful. But all it takes is for cortisol (that stress drummer) to kick in for a solo, and you have heavy metal in your body instead of Mozart!
Bohuslav explained it so lucidly that even those who thought the thyroid was something on the neck of a sweater left like little endocrinologists.
And now for the best part - participants got a workout right in the library! No squats to death or running on the treadmill. All it took was a few simple moves and the body started sending thank you notes. Instead of the rustling of pages, there were sighs of contentment among the shelves of books.
A recipe for happy hormones
Bohuslav revealed the secret recipe:
Sleep - Quality, not just "survival"
Diet - Balanced (no, chocolate is not a vegetable)
Movement - Natural, even a walk
Calm - Leave stress at the door
Visitors left smiling and feeling like they finally understood why their stomachs were growling after lunch (insulin sends its regards!) and why they were like zombies in the morning without coffee (adrenaline is still asleep).
So the next time someone tells you "it's just hormones" - know that it's not an excuse, it's science!
And who knows - maybe next time you'll find a guide to happier glands in your library instead of novels!
